My first exposure to tarot was at 11 years old when a classmate brought a deck to school. She offered "fortune-telling" to curious classmates. Her readings were rudimentary, but I was captivated. I vividly remember two cards from my very first reading: the Sun and Death. They left a lasting impression on me.
Fast forward to 2003. While completing my Master of Theological Studies at Harvard Divinity School, specializing in comparative mythology, I studied myths and lore from various traditions. I gained a deep understanding of and appreciation for symbolism, archetypes, colours, and numbers through this program. Around this time, I met two tarot enthusiasts whose influence reignited my interest in tarot. The parallels between my academic studies and the tarot system were undeniable. Inspired, I decided to learn tarot for myself. I purchased a few books and my first deck, the Mythic Tarot (which I still use with clients sometimes), and began my serious journey into tarot.
To this day, I am fascinated by how revealing tarot cards can be—and people's perception of them (because we all see and focus on different things even in the same pictures). For me, they are more than tools for fortune-telling or entertainment. They are a means of self-exploration—a form of meditation, if you will. Of course, I must say my services are for entertainment purposes only!
There are no inherently "good" or "bad" cards in a deck. Each card holds both positive and challenging aspects, much like life events. During your session, I will present all possible interpretations of the cards you/we choose. Ultimately, you decide what the cards mean for you. Tarot is here to help you reflect and guide you through your life journey, not distract you from it. As your tarot reader, I provide insights, but you remain in charge of your decisions and your path!
